Gems of the sea deserve fine settings. I use .925 Sterling sheet and fine silver, plus 18K gold to showcase my finest bezel-set seaglass. I often add texture to the backplates by hammering or rolling mill, may add some ornamental details, but keep designs simple to showcase the natural beauty, color and texture of the seaglass. Many thick antique pieces can only be set with heavy Sterling wire prong or cage settings. Mini sculptures!
